About Highlands Pediatrics, P.C.

Highlands Pediatrics has been in practice since 1995 and specializes in the care of children. Our doctors are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in newborn, infant, child, & adolescent care. We take care of children from birth through teenage years. Our training, continuing medical education, and our day to day practice is dedicated to the care of children.

To make an appointment with us

Please call 276-623-8100. During busy times you may have to wait for your call to be answered but as soon as a receptionist is free your call will be answered. We try very hard to reduce the amount of time you have to wait to see the physician. However, we also try to see all sick patients on the day you call in, so please understand we may not be able to give you an appointment at exactly the time you request, but we will try to accommodate you and get you in at the earliest time possible. Thank your in advance for your patience and cooperation as we try to reduce the overall wait time for every patient.

We are also happy to assist you with your medical records requests. We do not charge for medical records if we are sending them to another physician/physician’s office, example a specialist. However, if you simply need a copy of you are transferring to another office there will be a charge for a copying fee. We also do require 24 hours to complete your medical records request. Please note we are unable to fill out school required physical forms if we have not seen your child recently. We would be happy to schedule a physical for your child to get the required paperwork completed.

Under Virginia statute the original medical records must remain the property of the Practice, however you are always welcome to obtain a copy of them.

If one of our doctors sends you for a service that your insurance company requires preauthorization or a referral for, such as an MRI, x-ray, or visit to a specialist, we can help you. Contact Topaz at 276-623-8110 and provide the following information:
- Child’s name & DOB
- Insurance type & information
- The procedure / specialist you will be seeing
- Your contact information
